PARKS & RECREATIONFRED BUNN TRAILS PUBLIC INPUT SESSIONThe City invites you to the final public input session for the Fred Bunn trails at Manhattan Park on Wednesday, Aug. 31. The input session will start at 6 p.m. in rooms 101 and 102 at the Community Center. City staff and members of the West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance will present the updated conceptual plan and environmental assessment results, answer questions and take feedback on the proposed trails. Following the input session, designs will be finalized and submitted to the City Commission for final approval in September. If you cannot attend the input session, you can submit feedback to input@eastgr.org by Sept. 12. FINAL MOVIE OF THE SEASONAs Movies in the Park comes to a close, join us for "Jungle Cruise" at dusk Friday at John Collins Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets and arrive early to secure a spot. Barbeques, grilling, open fires or alcohol are not allowed in the park and dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Visit eastgr.org/concerts and eastgr.org/movies for more information. JUST ADDED: FALL DOG OBEDIENCE CLASSThis eight-week course, designed for dogs 6 months and older, will give you the practical skills to train your dog in good behavior. Children ages 10 and older are welcome to attend and must be accompanied by an adult. Classes will meet Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m. Sept. 14-Nov. 2. FINANCE & CITY ADMINISTRATION

WELCOME AUSTIN HUGHES, EGR SCHOOL/COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICERAs students head back to class, join us in welcoming Austin Hughes as the EGR school/community liaison officer. Officer Hughes is excited about the new school year and building positive relationships with students, staff and parents. BACK-TO-SCHOOL SAFETYPublic Safety officers and crossing guards have important reminders for drivers, walkers and bicyclists.
