    Sound Amplification: Use of sound amplification in the public parks or on school property shall not disturb the quiet enjoyment of the park or the surrounding neighborhood homes unless an amplification permit has been obtained from the Parks & Recreation Department.

    Initial rental fee will be a minimum of one hour with additional half hour increments if needed. 
    Ball diamonds have stone dust infields with the exception of Rusty Swaney Field at Remington Park. 

    Please note the following updated policies for Remington Field Baseball Rentals:

    • Weekday rental warm-ups may not begin until 3:30 PM.

    • Buses are permitted in the parking lot beginning at 3:45 PM.
      
      Unprepared fields are $28 per hour 
      Tournament Fee: $285 per field.
      Field Drag and Chalk:  $45 (Monday - Friday)      Saturday and Sunday field prep: TBD on Staff.

    4. Scoreboard/PA System at Mehney or Memorial $30(used only if Staff Supervisor is available at an additional $20/Hour) NO MUSIC is allowed over the PA system
    5. Soccer Corner Flags - $20 (you can use your own if they are weighted. Spiked corner flags are prohibited because they puncture the artificial turf. Violators will be charged a $100 damage fee.

52. Tennis & Pickleball Courts

    Court rental is a minimum of $8 per hour. 
    Tennis and Pickleball courts will be reserved on the hour. 
    Tournament rental at Canepa Tennis Center is $300 per day. (reserves all 8 courts)

56. Residents of East Grand Rapids will receive a 20% discount except where noted. The discount does not apply to business owners, organizations or revenue generating events.
58. Insurance Requirements - Copy MUST be submitted at least three days prior to rental.
    INSURANCE COVERAGE In order to rent a facility, you must provide proof and a copy of liability insurance, no less than three days prior to the rental, including the following coverage: General Liability: $1 million Bodily Injury and Property Damage combined The CITY OF EAST GRAND RAPIDS AND EAST GRAND RAPIDS PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT shall be named as an “Additional Insured” under policy with respect to rentals issued by the City. The address is: CITY OF EAST GRAND RAPIDS 750 Lakeside Dr. East Grand Rapids, MI 49506. The rental holder shall indemnify and hold harmless the City, its officers, elected officials, agents, employees and volunteers, from and against any and all claims, actions, suits, proceedings, costs, expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees), damages, and liabilities claimed by any person, organization, association, or otherwise arising out of or relating to any act or omission of the permit holder, its agents, contractors or employees under this Agreement. Such indemnification shall not be effective to the extent that the damage or injury results from the sole negligence of the City. Failure of the Company to comply with the terms of the City’s rental procedures as described may result in revocation of the rental and the inability to obtain future rental agreements. The CITY OF EAST GRAND RAPIDS shall be given 30 days’ notice of any change, cancellation, expiration or renewal of the policy.
60. Facility Agreement

    1. I am 18 years old or older. I have read and agree with the Park and Athletic Field Facility Rental Policies.

    Applicant hereby releases the City of East Grand Rapids, its officers, agents, and employees from all liability and waives any and all rights and claims for any and all injuries or damage to person or property, possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19 and accidents which may occur as a result of the use of City facilities. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of injury, serious illness and death does exist. In addition, applicant agrees to indemnify the city, its officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, judgments, losses, damages, demands, and legal proceedings arising out of or resulting from the use of City facilities. I understand that all information submitted to the City of East Grand Rapids is considered public information and subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
